Cynthia Moore
As a former executive and single parent of two children who participate(d) in the special education process, I have an in-depth understanding of the challenges parents face on a daily basis within and outside of the school setting. I started my journey of supporting others by volunteering through the Educational Surrogate Parent Program. Thereafter, I became a recurring speaker for the Autism Society of America on the topic of "How to Successfully Single Parent a Child with Autism".
I am a trained Advocate, Special Needs Advocacy Network, Inc. Board Member, Northborough-Southborough Parent Advisory Council Board Member, trained and sworn in Worcester district mediator, Federation for Children with Special Needs trainer, parent member of MA Inter-agency Restraint & Seclusion Prevention Initiative, graduate of the Mass Families Organizing for Change leadership series, and member of the Council of Parent Attorneys Advocates Incorporated.
I have counseled and assisted others to secure the services, supports and experiences their children require in order to be successful in school and beyond. When required, I have participated in mediation, Bureau of Special Education hearing and civil rights proceedings.
Through this journey I have learned that helping families navigate and succeed within the special education world is my passion in life. It would be my honor to serve you and your family!
